PhoneClarity is a troubleshooting knowledge base for smartphone problems. The goal is narrow and deliberate: clear answers for confusing device problems, written to be followed on the phone you are trying to fix.
What PhoneClarity covers
At launch, PhoneClarity covers smartphone troubleshooting: charging, battery, power and boot, screen, camera, audio, WiFi and Bluetooth, mobile data and network, calls and messages, apps, storage and performance, and system updates. Coverage focuses on Apple iPhone, Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, and other widely used Android phones.
Other device categories will only be added when there is enough validated content to be genuinely useful.
How information is researched
Each guide starts from a specific, real problem rather than a keyword. Research collects what the manufacturer documents, what the platform behaviour actually is, and how the symptom presents in practice. Community discussions are used to discover symptoms and edge cases, never to establish a technical fact.
How official sources are prioritised
Sources are ranked, and important technical claims are expected to rest on the higher tiers:
- Official Apple, Samsung, and Google documentation and support pages
- Official manufacturer support material, manuals, and release notes
- Reputable technical documentation and high-quality technical publications
- Community discussions — for symptom discovery only
How claims are checked
Important claims in a guide are extracted and checked against the sources behind them, and each is marked verified, partially verified, unsupported, or contradicted. An important claim that comes back unsupported or contradicted blocks publication until it is resolved.
Settings names, menu paths, procedures, error codes, model compatibility, and OS behaviour are never invented. If we cannot verify the exact wording of an error message or the exact path to a setting, the guide does not publish that detail.
How AI-assisted drafting is handled
AI tools assist with research organisation, topic clustering, drafting, summarisation, and quality checks. AI does not establish technical truth. Every guide passes through claim extraction, fact checking against sources, safety validation, and human review before it is published.
PhoneClarity does not claim first-hand repair experience, laboratory testing, technician certification, or a repair facility, because none of those exist here. What we do claim is careful sourcing, explicit verification, and honest limits.
How corrections are handled
When something is wrong, we want to know. See the Corrections Policy for how to report an error and how corrections are recorded.
How safety is handled
Procedures are grouped by risk. Low-risk steps come first. Before any step that can cause data loss, the guide explains what may be lost, recommends a backup where appropriate, offers safer alternatives, and says whether the action can be undone. High-risk procedures — factory resets, firmware flashing, bootloader operations, battery replacement, opening the device — normally direct you to official support or a qualified repair professional rather than walking you through them.
